Thank you to all of our many supporters!

Welcome to my web page for the American Diabetes Association (ADA)
2017 Tour De Cure Fund raiser.

As most of you who are reading this page know, my daughter, Cate, was diagnosed last January with Type One Diabetes (T1D) at the tender age of 10.  T1D is a constantly life threatening condition Cate will live with for the rest of her life.  Cate has become proficient in estimating how many grams of carbohydrates are in each serving of every meal and snack she eats, and in calculating how many units of insulin she needs to cover those carbohydrates.  Unlike the rest of us, Cate's body no longer produces insulin, and with out multiple daily injections of insulin, Cate would not survive.  Organizations like the ADA have raised substantial amounts of cash that has been used to study Diabetes and develop increasingly better tools for Cate to use to manage her disease.  So far, however, a true "cure" of Diabetes has not been found.

On September 9th, 2017, the ADA will host its annual Fund Raising event in Parker Colorado.  This year there will be options to ride a bicycle 100 miles (Cate's brother, Connor plans to do this ride and perhaps his parents will give it a go as well), a 100 Kilometer ride that Cate will cover, a 50 Kilometer ride, a 5 Kilometer run/walk, and new this year there will be an "American Ninja" competition course for supporters who would rather not bike or run (and for those who just did not get enough after 100 miles - Connor).

Last year with the help of over 30 of our friends, Team AlliCATErs was able to raise nearly $25,000 at the Tour De Cure which will go towards supporting the ADA in its efforts to improve the lives of people with diabetes, and hopefully eventually to find a cure for Cate's grinding never ending disease.  We hope to add riders and to raise substantially more this year than we did on our inaugural ride.

If you would like to join us for a fun day of riding, running, and perhaps tipping back a cold one with friends while raising money for a cause that means so much to me and 30,000,000 (that's 30 MILLION) other Americans, please consider joining the AlliCATErs.

If you are already booked on September 9th, or if riding a bicycle for 30 to 100 miles is just nor your thing, please consider making a contribution to the cause.

The links below will allow you to bypass the confusion of the ADA Tour De Cure web page and take you directly to one of our personal pages where you can make a donation, or to our team page where you can register to join us in person.

And remember, making donations to the American Diabetes Association’s Tour-De-Cure is much like voting.  You should do it early and often!

We look forward to seeing you in September if not sooner!

Sincerley

Your grateful Alli-CATE’rs!

Pam, Andy, Cate, and Connor
